About Wilberforce College

Wilberforce College is a sixth-form college on Saltshouse Road in east Hull. Named after William Wilberforce, Hull's most famous son, the college sits on a self-contained campus with modern facilities, ample parking, and good transport links to the city centre and the University of Hull.

For Fight Night 2, the main hall is being transformed into a purpose-built boxing venue with a professional ring, stage, lighting rig, and bar area. The 499 capacity is deliberately tighter than FN1's 640 — a smaller room concentrates the atmosphere and keeps the energy at close quarters.

The venue offers a fresh layout compared to PQ Event Space, with better sightlines from more positions in the room, a dedicated bar area separated from the main viewing space, and improved sound coverage thanks to the hall's acoustics.

Getting There

Address

Wilberforce College, Saltshouse Road, Hull, HU8 9HD

By Bus

Wilberforce College is served by East Yorkshire Buses along Holderness Road and Saltshouse Road. From Hull Interchange (the main bus station in the city centre), services run regularly along Holderness Road — one of Hull's busiest bus corridors. Alight at the Saltshouse Road stop and the college is a two-minute walk.

From the University of Hull campus on Cottingham Road, you can catch a bus into the city centre and change at the Interchange, or take a taxi directly (about 15 minutes).

By Car

From Hull city centre, head east on Holderness Road (A165). After about two miles, turn right onto Saltshouse Road. The college entrance is on the left. Journey time is around 10–15 minutes depending on traffic.

From the A63 / Humber Bridge approach, follow signs for Hull city centre, then pick up Holderness Road heading east.

Parking

Wilberforce College has its own car park, which is free to use on event nights. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis — arrive early if you are driving. There is additional street parking on surrounding residential roads, but please be considerate of local residents.

By Taxi

A taxi from Hull city centre takes about 10 minutes and costs roughly £8–12. From the University of Hull campus, expect about 15 minutes and £10–15. Uber operates in Hull, and local firms like Hull Cars and 707070 Taxis are reliable options.

After the event, expect high demand for taxis. Pre-booking a return journey is recommended, especially if the afterparty runs late.

By Bike

Hull is famously flat and cycling-friendly. There are cycle paths along much of Holderness Road. Bike racks are available on the college grounds — bring a lock.

Accessibility

Wilberforce College offers step-free access to the event space. Accessible toilets are available. If you have specific accessibility requirements, contact the RAVOK team in advance at hello@ravok.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Nearby Food & Drink

The event has a full bar on-site, and you can pre-order drink packages when you buy your ticket. For food before the event, Holderness Road has a wide range of takeaways, cafes, and restaurants within a short drive or bus ride. The area around Hull city centre and Princes Avenue offers more options if you are making a night of it.
